Catfish Synodontis

Synodontis is the largest type of catfish. With over 131 different species, we can find the right one for you. The earliest fossils of Synodontis in East African are from the Early Miocene. Many Synodontis fossils are the spines because they are very sturdy and so they are preserved better. Most of these catfish like lots of hiding places and to be in groups. We like putting a catfish in every aquarium to give us a little night life, because they are generally more active at night. One of the Synodontis we carry is the Eupterus Catfish which we have a few of in our own personal tanks. These are exciting looking fish that really bring character to your freshwater aquarium.
